A full-time travelling lifestyle has been our dream for years and we are gradually shifting if from dream to plan to fruition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s no simple undertaking to become a full-time traveler. Whether you&#8217;re doing on a tight budget or luxury, the biggest investment is in thinking and planning. How much you spend comes down to the choices you make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our trip is a compromise of money, comfort, safety and exploration. We&#8217;ve opted for a <a href=\"https:\/\/rjjc.net\/home\/?page_id=74\">tow vehicle<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/rjjc.net\/home\/?page_id=81\">caravan<\/a> so that we can establish a base in each region as we move around the country, unhitch and see as much of the area as possible without too many restrictions and limitations. We can free-camp comfortably where available (or necessary) or hook-up as required to enjoy more creature comforts when needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-default\"><figure class=\"alignright size-thumbnail\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/rjjc.net\/home\/wp-content\/uploads\/Mungo-Campsite-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-462\"\/><figcaption>Mungo Main Campsite<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Safety and reliability is paramount and that has influenced our decisions on both our <a href=\"https:\/\/rjjc.net\/home\/?page_id=74\">tow vehicle<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/rjjc.net\/home\/?page_id=81\">caravan<\/a>. We chose a <a href=\"https:\/\/rjjc.net\/home\/?page_id=74\">Toyota Landcruiser VX200<\/a> (Australia&#8217;s &#8216;king of the road&#8217;) and a <a href=\"https:\/\/rjjc.net\/home\/?page_id=81\">Supreme Executive caravan<\/a> capable of semi off-road travel allowing us to get to reasonably remote places, in comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>COVID-19 has dented our plans somewhat by delaying our start until August 2021 (at this stage). We have however completed a five week <a href=\"https:\/\/rjjc.net\/home\/?cat=22\" data-type=\"category\" data-id=\"22\">Shakedown Trip<\/a> to Mungo National Park that only fuelled our desire to get on the road even more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Grand Tour will be our caravan trip around Australia.
